How Big Money Corrupts
Healthcare
< Go back

Ideally our health system should be affordable and be about common sense prevention of disease and the promotion of health. But instead over 44 million Americans lack health insurance and it's about who's will pay for who's disease. Why? Maybe it's because managed care companies and other healthcare providers supplied nearly $76 million in campaign contributions from 1997-1999. Uninsured American's don't have a lobby and don't make campaign contributions.
